After flying high against the Amplus Academy Archers last Tuesday, the Bonanza Bengals came back down to earth. Bonanza took a serious blow against Southeast Career Tech on Thursday, falling 54-20. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Bonanza has suffered yet this season.
Leading Southeast Career Tech to victory were Bianca Vazquez and Morgan Sweet. Vazquez scored 24 points along with two steals, while Sweet dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. Sweet hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Kaelie Pernyak, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Bonanza's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Southeast Career Tech, their win bumped their record up to 8-13.
Bonanza will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Tuesday. As for Southeast Career Tech, they will head out on the road to square off against Eldorado at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Eldorado is ranked 96th, while Southeast Career Tech is ranked 76th).
