The McNair Eagles's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against Chavez by a score of 55-45. McNair pushed the score to 49-28 by the end of the third, a deficit Chavez cut but never quite recovered from.
DaWaine Watson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Elliot Williams, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Chavez's loss came despite strong showings from Tariq Turay and Treavon Spivey. Turay dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Spivey dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Turay has scored all season.
McNair pushed their record up to 6-14 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Chavez, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McNair will square off against Bear Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Chavez, they will head out on the road to take on Stagg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Stagg is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
