Schurz is 2-8 against Senn since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Schurz will welcome Senn at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Schurz took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Prosser, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bulldogs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Falcons on Friday, sneaking past 5-4.
Schurz saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camrin J., who got on base in three of his two plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.
Schurz always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of 1.222. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Prosser only posted an OBP of .450.
Meanwhile, Senn won against Rickover Naval on Saturday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Bulldogs came out on top against Prosser by a score of 11-8. The victory was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won three games in a row.
Owen Garr and Evan Goldman did most of the damage at the plate: Garr got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Goldman got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two RBI gave Garr a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Roscoe Segall-Brooks, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Schurz pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Senn, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Schurz might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Senn in their previous meeting back in April. Will Schurz have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
