The Galt Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 75-45 loss at the hands of Johnson. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Galt in their matchups with Johnson: they've now lost five in a row.
Galt's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zavion Mitchell, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds and four steals. Mitchell continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Wilson Garcia, who scored eight points along with seven assists and four steals.
Galt's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Johnson, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.
Galt is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Ben Holt College Prep Academy at 8:00 p.m. on December 27th. Ben Holt College Prep Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Galt in California (Ben Holt College Prep Academy is ranked 499th, while Galt is ranked 1268th). Johnson will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Natomas at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2024.
