Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Highland Bulldogs, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were the victim of a rough 42-16 loss at the hands of Charter Oak on Friday. Highland was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.
Among those leading the charge was Corin Berry, who threw for 218 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Legend Lyons also helped out with an impressive 112 receiving yards.
Highland's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Charter Oak, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-8.
Highland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Charter Oak will head out on the road to face off against Jurupa Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Jurupa Hills is ranked 201st, while Charter Oak is ranked 184th).
