Volleyball Recap: Rye Finds Home Court Redemption Against Florence

There's no place like home for Rye, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They blew past the Florence Huskies 3-0 on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Thunderbolts, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Rye was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-21.

Isabella Bond paced Rye's offense, picking up ten kills. Bond got some help from Olivia Donlon and her 17 assists. Bond was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Rye's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Florence, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Coming up, Rye will challenge Fowler at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Grizzlies will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Thunderbolts surely won't give up without a fight. As for Florence, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Mary's at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Huskies are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
