Clemente hasn't had much luck against Holy Trinity recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Wildcats will face off against the Tigers at 10:00 a.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Clemente barely beat Mather the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Rangers with a sharp 10-1 win on Friday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Rangers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Paul Gandara was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Clemente: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Semaj Beecham, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Clemente's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Johan Anez, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Clemente kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Holy Trinity had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They never let the Cristeros get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by eight runs or more this season.
Holy Trinity pushed their record up to 10-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Clemente, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Clemente came up short against Holy Trinity in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 7-3. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
