The Leechburg Blue Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 81-60 walloping at the hands of Riverview. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Leechburg still got an impressive performance from Jayden Floyd, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. Mason Scitticatt was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Even though they lost, Leechburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Leechburg bumped their record down to 2-11 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Riverview, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
Leechburg will head out on the road to take on Serra Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Serra Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Leechburg likes a good challenge. As for Riverview, they will be playing at home against Fort Cherry at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Fort Cherry has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 473 points over their last seven matches.
