Baseball Recap: Gregory-Portland Makes It Six in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Gregory-Portland, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They skirted past the Flour Bluff Hornets 3-2. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Dominic Guerra and Jaymen Galvan did most of the damage at the plate: Guerra scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2, while Galvan scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Guerra a new career-high.

Gregory-Portland's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-10. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Flour Bluff, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9-2.

Coincidentally, Gregory-Portland and Flour Bluff will both be playing King the next time they take the field. Flour Bluff will host King at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Gregory-Portland will host them at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
