Basketball Recap: Norwich Beats Athens for Their Third Straight Victory

Norwich put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past the Athens Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 68-50. That's more bragging rights for the Purple Tornado, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aidan Briggs, who shot 63% from the field en route to 14 points. Kam Wheeler was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals.

Norwich's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Athens, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Norwich will head out to square off against Chenango Forks at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Athens, they will challenge Newfield at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday.
