2A Region 3 recap October 1, 2013
West Bolivar's Leanardo Brown recorded the longest rushing play in 2A Region 3 this season in his game against West Tallahatchie last week. Brown scampered for 65 yards on the play and finished with 135 on the day as his team beat the Choctaws.
Leland lost to O'Bannon 42-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Aric Davis threw for 229 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Terrale Washington was the best wideout in the league this week as South Delta topped Jefferson County. Washington racked up 5 receptions for 168 yards.
South Delta's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Davis has thrown for 628 yards and 5 touchdowns this season, while Washington has 19 catches for 423 yards.
The Bulldogs' offense has scored 112 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while West Bolivar has allowed only 69 on the year.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when South Delta's Washington goes up against Joac Williams' team's Deguadereck Rice.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when Derrick Hooker's team and the Eagles face off next week.
Next week's game between the Bulldogs and West Bolivar will feature an aerial matchup as Davis tests his arm against Rice's defensive ability.

The Eagles led the league in scoring this week by notching 34 points on West Tallahatchie. Brown ran for 135 yards during the win.
