Kennedy Catholic is 0-4 against Decatur since June of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Kennedy Catholic Lancers will be playing at home against the Decatur Golden Gators at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Kennedy Catholic suffered their biggest defeat since December 22, 2023 on Monday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 58-35 walloping at the hands of Enumclaw. Kennedy Catholic has not had much luck with Enumclaw recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Riley Burns, who scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriela King, who scored three points along with ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Decatur unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 56-38 bruising from Tahoma. While losing is never fun, Decatur can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Tahoma is ranked 15th).
Kennedy Catholic's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 5-9. As for Decatur, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.
