The biggest upset of the week belonged to Oak Park, who took down 382nd ranked Carpinteria, 26-21. Jack Gerstenberger threw for 103 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 32 yards in the win.
Bishop Diego extended the longest winning streak in Tri-Valley this week by beating Mission Prep, 16-13. The victory was the 10th in a row for the Cardinals.
Tanner Workman and Matt Woodcock gave Nordhoff a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Workman threw for 109 yards and two touchdowns, while Woodcock ran for 114 yards. Teammate Mark Burdick added to the ground attack by rushing for 52 yards.
Anthony Graham made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Warriors lost to the Eagles. The 5-foot-9 senior recorded one fumble.
Peter Ramos was the best wideout in the league this week as Carpinteria fell to Oak Park. Ramos racked up four receptions for 105 yards. Marcus Hutchinson helped Carpinteria's passing attack out by catching two balls for 57 yards.
The Rangers' Workman and Eric Lara have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Workman has thrown for 1824 yards this season, while Lara, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 37 catches for 646 yards. Santa Paula's Juan Carlos Magana leads the league in rushing yards with 885.
Nordhoff's Workman is within 176 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Sierra Vista.
Terry Shorten's team moved up to 401 from 456 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Tri-Valley. The Eagles were able to make move up by topping Ben Hallock's team 26-21.
