West Boylston/Tahanto extended the longest winning streak in Midland Wachusett - D this week by beating South, 48-8. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
West Boylston/Tahanto took down the Colonials 48-8 last week, the largest margin of any game. Steven Gould threw for 173 yards and three touchdowns and ran for eight yards in the win.
Sean Peterson was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 29 carries, he ran for 266 yards as Maynard/Bromfield beat South. Shawn Kennedy also contributed to the rushing game with 81 yards on the ground.
Hayes was the best wideout in the league this week as the Lions bested the Colonials. Hayes tallied five receptions for 123 yards. Devin Desautels helped West Boylston/Tahanto's passing attack out by catching one ball for 29 yards.
West Boylston/Tahanto's Gould and Hayes have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Midland Wachusett - D in both passing and receiving yards. Gould has thrown for 876 yards this season, while Hayes, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 27 catches for 619 yards. The Tigers' Peterson leads the league in rushing yards with 1513.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Lions take on Littleton. West Boylston/Tahanto is currently in first, while the Tigers are in third.
Narragansett Regional led the league in scoring this week after putting up 60 points on St. Bernard's Central Catholic.
