Chartwell couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a serious blow against Ceiba College Preparatory Academy last Tuesday, falling 76-32.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Kirby Prep, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They had to suffer through a rough 70-23 loss at the hands of San Lorenzo Valley. Kirby Prep has struggled against San Lorenzo Valley recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Kirby Prep saw an underclassman step up: Chris Lively scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Lively scored a full 60.9% of Kirby Prep's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Chartwell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Kirby Prep, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5.
