Omaha South has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 24 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Buena Vista last Saturday as Omaha South made off with a 59-35 win.
Omaha South found their leader in underclassman Mckenzie James, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. James continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Eve Hodoly, who scored nine points along with seven assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, Gretna had to suffer through a rough 62-21 loss at the hands of Millard West. Gretna was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-13.
Omaha South's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Gretna, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Omaha South took a serious blow against Gretna in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, falling 62-23. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Omaha South was down 36-9.
