The Riverton Silverwolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. Their tough 50-25 defeat to Copper Hills might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Riverton has scored all season.
Riverton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Emmalee Christensen, who scored ten points.
Leading Copper Hills to victory were Skylie Barker and Ellie Taylor. Barker dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Taylor scored 20 points along with five steals. Taylor Johnson was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Riverton has been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Copper Hills, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverton will face off against Mountain Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain Ridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Riverton in Utah (Mountain Ridge is ranked 17th, while Riverton is ranked 78th). As for Copper Hills, they will head out on the road to challenge Herriman at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
