The Hampton County Hurricanes posted their biggest victory since November 20, 2023 on Saturday. They blew past Whale Branch 59-33. Winning may never get old, but Hampton County sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Despite the loss, Whale Branch still got an impressive performance from Kailey Pusha-weeks, who scored two points along with five rebounds and five steals. Desiree Jenkins was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Hampton County's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Whale Branch, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hampton County will take on Hilton Head Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Whale Branch, they will head out on the road to square off against Branchville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Branchville comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 14 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
