Even though the Goldwater Bulldogs scored an imposing 57 points on Thursday, the Peoria Panthers still came out on top. Peoria enjoyed a cozy 71-57 win over Goldwater. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Peoria also won the last time the pair played two weeks ago.
Peoria was led to victory by Nehemiah Ward and Terrell Colenburg. Ward scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Colenburg scored 19 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Colenburg has scored all season. Marcell Colenberg was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Peoria has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-16 record this season. As for Goldwater, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-17.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peoria will take on Agua Fria at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Agua Fria focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 last Tuesday. As for Goldwater, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Estrella Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
