The Hale Cardinals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Keytesville Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hale knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Keytesville likes a good challenge.
Hale pushed their score all the way to 62 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 75-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grundy County/Newtown-Harris. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (56), Hale still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Keytesville, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They were outmatched by Hardin-Central on the road and fell 75-37. Keytesville has not had much luck with Hardin-Central recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Hale's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Keytesville, they bumped their record down to 0-4 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Hale against Keytesville in their previous matchup back in November as the squad secured a 78-40 victory. Does Hale have another victory up their sleeve, or will Keytesville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
