Baseball Recap: Jay Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

It's playoff time, and Jay had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Central Jaguars on Thursday as they made off with a 13-6 victory. Considering the Royals have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Bridger Hebb looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jax Lowery and Cooper Harrison did most of the damage at the plate: Lowery got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Harrison went 1-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Lowery has posted since back in April of 2024. Brison Nelson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Jay is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-9 record this season.

Jay will head out on the road to square off against Holmes County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Devils will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Royals surely won't give up without a fight. Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
