Basketball Recap: First Baptist Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Georgia Alford and Meredith Quinn

After flying high against Prestonwood Christian North last Friday, First Baptist came back down to earth. The First Baptist Saints received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 56-38 to the Brook Hill Guard. While losing is never fun, the Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 410th, while the Guard are ranked 193rd).

First Baptist's loss came despite strong showings from Meredith Quinn and Georgia Alford. Quinn dropped a double-double with 19 points and 12 boards, while Alford posted 13 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. That was a full 50% of First Baptist's points, marking the seventh time in a row Quinn has put up more than a third of the team's points.

First Baptist's defeat dropped their record down to 29-5. As for Brook Hill, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 21 of their last 22 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 33-6 record this season.

First Baptist wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 69-25 victory against Southcrest Christian on the 18th. As for Brook Hill, they have also already played their next game, a 56-42 win against Trinity Christian on the 18th.
