The Poteet Pirates won the last time they faced the Ranchview Wolves, and things went their way on Friday too. Poteet strolled past Ranchview with points to spare, taking the game 49-30.
Defeat or not, Ranchview got some senior leadership from Alexis Simpson who scored 9 points and Jadyn Smith who scored 7 points along with 12 rebounds. Simpson scored a full 30% of Ranchview's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joy English, who scored 4 points.
Poteet's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Ranchview, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.
Poteet is on the road again on Friday and play against Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. Canyon presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Poteet in Texas (Canyon is ranked 47th, while Poteet is ranked 611th). As for Ranchview, they will be playing at home against Newman Smith at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
