Basketball Recap: Hough Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Hough ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against the Mallard Creek Mavericks by a score of 48-41. The win was familiar territory for the Huskies who have now won three matchups in a row.

Hough's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Judah Freeman, who went 8 for 20 en route to 21 points and six boards. Freeman is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last four games he's played. John Slusher was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds.

Hough smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Mallard Creek lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ahmad Savage, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Johnson, who earned ten points.

Hough now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Mallard Creek, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-11.

Looking ahead, Hough will host Harding University at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hough is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season. As for Mallard Creek, they will head out on the road to take on West Mecklenburg at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Mallard Creek is facing West Mecklenburg at the right time seeing as West Mecklenburg is stuck on a 21-game losing streak.
