Fordham Prep is 8-2 against Salesian since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Rams will face off against the Eagles at 4:15 p.m. Salesian took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Fordham Prep, who comes in off a win.
Eight must be Fordham Prep's lucky number: they beat St. Joseph with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Rams beat the Spartans by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-7. While the Rams didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Alex Mendoza looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Jack McKillop was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Jackson Rose also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, Salesian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Archbishop Stepinac. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since May 3, 2024.
Dylan Binda was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Jonny Hyland, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Fordham Prep is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Salesian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Fordham Prep has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Salesian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Fordham Prep took their victory against Salesian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
