Basketball Recap: Hillsborough Drops Season-High Score on Sickles

Hillsborough scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They received a blow as they fell 90-73 to the Sickles Gryphons. The Terriers just can't catch a break and have now endured eight losses in a row.

Sickles' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adrian Thomas, who went 8 for 9 en route to 17 points and seven boards. Those 17 points gave Thomas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eddy Hernandez, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds.

Hillsborough's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Sickles, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillsborough will challenge Brandon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brandon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Hillsborough likes a good challenge. Sickles has already played their next contest (against Bloomingdale), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
