After a string of three wins, the Gainesville Bulldogs's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 44-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southern Missouri RUSH. Gainesville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Southern Missouri RUSH apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.
Southern Missouri RUSH's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lillian Mindeman led the charge by scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Hannah Gibbons, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Gainesville's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Southern Missouri RUSH, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
Gainesville will head out on the road to challenge Fordland at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southern Missouri RUSH, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Stoutland at 2:00 p.m. on January 27th.
