Leading Orange County to victory were Laney Fayard and Chloe Hebert. Fayard scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Hebert dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Fayard is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Janiyah Hackley was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five assists.
When it comes to explaining why Madison County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ava Jenkins. Despite the final result, she scored five points along with 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Even though they lost, Madison County were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Orange County's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Madison County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.
