Trinity Academy hasn't had much luck against GRACE Christian recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Cary Christian hit Trinity Academy with a four-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers came up short against the Knights, falling 13-2. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Trinity Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Bondy, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask GRACE Christian). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Fayetteville Christian a 13-0 shutout last Tuesday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Thomas Bradley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Bradley was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, GRACE Christian let Cooper Bachman and Landon Shiley run wild. Bachman went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one run, while Shiley went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs Shiley has posted since back in April of 2024. Conner Tack was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
GRACE Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matchups.
Trinity Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for GRACE Christian, their win bumped their record up to an identical 2-7.
Trinity Academy might still be hurting after the 33-7 defeat they got from GRACE Christian in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
