Basketball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends North Decatur's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but North Decatur unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Madison Cubs. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cubs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, North Decatur still got an impressive performance from Madi Allen, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 boards. Allen has become a key player for North Decatur: the team is 7-2 when she posts at least eight boards, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kelsey Haley, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

It was another big night for Juliana Davis, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds for Madison. That makes it three consecutive games in which Davis has scored at least a third of Madison's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mylee Mcqueary, who had 13 points and eight rebounds.

North Decatur's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Madison, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.

North Decatur didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-23 victory against Hauser on the 28th. As for Madison, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 58-30 win against Southwestern on the 28th.
