Basketball Recap: Bishop Carroll Comes Up Short

Bishop Carroll lost against Hollidaysburg back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bishop Carroll Huskies were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 71-70 to the Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 325th, while the Golden Tigers are ranked 50th).

Bishop Carroll's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Will Tremel, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds, and Jace Casses, who posted 18 points and six boards. Casses' evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Llehson Walker, who earned nine points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Bishop Carroll was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Bishop Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Hollidaysburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season.

Bishop Carroll wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-44 defeat against Penn Cambria on the 3rd. Hollidaysburg has also already played their next match, a 51-37 win against Altoona on the 3rd.
