Caldwell County is 9-1 against the Panthers since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Caldwell County Tigers' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Dawson Springs Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Caldwell County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully the Panthers like a good challenge.
Last Tuesday, Caldwell County beat the Rockets 56-43.
Meanwhile, Dawson Springs pushed their score all the way to 59 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The contest between them and Madisonville-North Hopkins wasn't particularly close, with Dawson Springs falling 73-59.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Montgomery Johnston, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Rex Blue, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Caldwell County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Dawson Springs, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-9.
Caldwell County strolled past the Panthers when the teams last played back in January by a score of 65-49. Does Caldwell County have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
