Basketball Recap: Brilliant Piles Up the Points Against Berry

Brilliant won the last time they faced Berry and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Brilliant Tigers claimed a resounding 72-41 win over the Berry Wildcats. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brilliant to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hadlee Sanderson, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 17 boards. Sanderson has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Brooklyn Omary was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine steals.

Brilliant smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Berry only pulled down four offensive rebounds.

Berry's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maggie Mauldin, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kryssa Fields, who posted nine points along with seven rebounds and five blocks.

Brilliant's record is now 19-10. As for Berry, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-14.

Brilliant has already played their next game, a 56-44 victory against Hackleburg on the 1st. As for Berry, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 58-32 win against Pickens Academy on the 30th.
