Vision hasn't had much luck against Marsing recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Vision will square off against Marsing at 5:00 p.m. Vision has given up an average of 10.6 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Vision is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Tuesday. They lost 15-4 to New Plymouth.
Payton Williams was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Marsing and Parma meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Huskies were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over the Panthers. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won four games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Levi Puga made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5. Marsing is undefeated when Puga posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise.
In other batting news, Dresden Wood was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Steinmeyer, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Marsing always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Vision's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Marsing, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-3 record.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Vision has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .473. However, it's not like Marsing struggles in that department as they've averaged .486. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Vision suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Marsing in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Can Vision avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
