After having lost a blowout in their previous game against La Salette Academy, the Chrisman Cardinals were happy to have found some success on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 65-42 margin over DeLand-Weldon. With that victory, Chrisman brought their scoring average up to 51.6 points per game.
Chrisman found their leader in underclassman Gavin McCord, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Triston Lehmkuhl, who scored 12 points.
Chrisman's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for DeLand-Weldon, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chrisman will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Salt Fork at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. As for DeLand-Weldon, they will be playing at home against Lowpoint-Washburn at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Lowpoint-Washburn presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than DeLand-Weldon in Illinois (Lowpoint-Washburn is ranked 302nd, while DeLand-Weldon is ranked 753rd).
