On Friday, the Campbell County Camels faced the East Thunderbirds in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Campbell County was beaten by East 72-26. Campbell County has not had much luck with East recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Despite the loss, Campbell County still got an impressive performance from Lane Hladky, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. Hladky also grabbed two steals for the first time this season.
Campbell County now has a losing record at 2-3. As for East, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Campbell County and Glenwood Springs will face off at 10:00 a.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Glenwood Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 100th in Colorado, while Campbell County is ranked 21st in Wyoming). East will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rock Springs at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Rock Springs is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
