The Chatham Charter Knights stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Clover Garden School with a sharp 56-35 victory. Winning may never get old, but Chatham Charter sure is getting used to it with their 14th in a row.
Chatham Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Meah Brooks, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Brooks has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last seven times she's played. Delana Loflin was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven assists and five steals.
Despite the defeat, Clover Garden School saw an underclassman step up: Hanna Tickle scored nine points along with seven steals. Tickle hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games.
Chatham Charter pushed their record up to 19-1 with that win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Clover Garden School, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chatham Charter will take on Southern Wake Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chatham Charter is facing Southern Wake Academy at the right time seeing as Southern Wake Academy is stuck on a 18-game losing streak. As for Clover Garden School, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Eno River at 6:00 p.m. on February 8th. Eno River's defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so Clover Garden School's offense will have their work cut out for them.
