The Ninilchik Wolverines scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 75-34 victory over Kalskag. Ninilchik has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.
Riley Tucker was her usual excellent self, scoring 38 points. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Ninilchik's points. Another player making a difference was Addi McCorison, who scored 16 points.
Several Grizzly Bears players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emily Evan, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Evan has scored all season. Elizabeth Levi was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
The win (which was Ninilchik's fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Kalskag, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Ninilchik and Seward will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Kalskag does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
