Softball Recap: Robinson Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Robinson put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Pine Bluff Zebras a 21-0 shutout. The Senators have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Zebras, too.

Hailey Griffin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Griffin was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Ashley Miller was a standout: she scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Miller is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Lexi Rowe, who scored four runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Robinson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .367 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Robinson's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Pine Bluff, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Robinson will be playing in front of their home fans against Glen Rose at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pine Bluff, they will head out on the road to challenge Little Rock Southwest at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
