After a string of nine wins, the Bloomfield Bobcats's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Durango by a score of 35-32. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bloomfield has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Bloomfield still got an impressive performance from Aliya Quintana, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. The match was Quintana's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Danielle Johnson, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Lilly Fitzpatrick was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 11 points along with three steals. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. Ellie White was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Bloomfield's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-1. As for Durango, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomfield will take on Navajo Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Durango, they will play host again and welcome Battle Mountain, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Battle Mountain will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 246th, while Durango is ranked 114th).
