Brandon Smith Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Starting off the list is Central's Brandon Smith, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Smith rushed for 212 yards and two touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.
For the year, Smith has averaged 23.6 receiving yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after eight games last season, he had three rushing touchdowns. This year he is already up to 13.

On Friday, Clovis West had to settle for second even though Jonavon Darrington put up the best numbers he has all season. Darrington picked up 186 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 84 yards.
Clovis West is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5. Darrington and Clovis West are taking a road trip to face off against Clovis North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Clovis North Wins Third-Straight Thanks to Jackson Cinfel
Clovis North picked up their third consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Jackson Cinfel. Cinfel was excellent, rushing for 160 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (100.3).
Clovis North is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Cinfel's next game is against Clovis West on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid effort.
