Poca is 0-3 against Roane County since April of 2025 but things could change on Tuesday. The Dots will host the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Poca is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.8 runs per game this season.
Poca's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Midland Trail with a sharp 10-0 win. While the Dots didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Jackson McClanahan made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Cooper Jones and Nate Christian did most of the damage at the plate: Jones went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Christian went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Landon Bee, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Poca always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Midland Trail only posted an OBP of .125.
Meanwhile, Roane County fell victim to Buffalo and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to the Bison, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Poca's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Roane County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Poca suffered a grim 16-2 defeat to Roane County when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Will the Dots have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
