After a string of nine wins, Mooresville's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Iredell Vikings. The Blue Devils were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matchups prior), but the Vikings' pitchers proved too tough.

Luke Modrak was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one double.

Mooresville's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for South Iredell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

South Iredell will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Davie at 7:00 p.m. Mooresville will be paying especially close attention to the Vikings' matchup: after the Vikings faces off against the War Eagles, they'll take on Mooresville again at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
