The Fallsburg Comets had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past Eldred 76-51. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Fallsburg also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Eldred's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being James Deyermond, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Trai Kaufmann, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds.
Fallsburg's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Eldred, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Fallsburg will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Rondout Valley at 6:00 p.m. As for Eldred, they will head out on the road to face off against Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
