The Moore Haven Terriers will venture away from home to face off against the Estero Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Moore Haven is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last ten games.
On Tuesday, Moore Haven made easy work of Seacrest Country Day and carried off a 15-3 victory. Considering the Terriers have won eight games by more than 11 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Brooklyn Sergent made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, JoEllen Erskin was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tahnia Billie, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Moore Haven always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Seacrest Country Day only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Estero hadn't done well against Fort Myers recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Green Wave by a score of 9-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Kennedy Manetta spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits.
On the hitting side, Estero got a big performance out of Trenedy Eggleston, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI. Abby Guerra also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Moore Haven's record is now 10-1. As for Estero, their record now sits at 4-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Moore Haven has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 14.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Estero struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Moore Haven suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Estero in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Can the Terriers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
