Softball Recap: Monday's Win Is Northside's 17th in Last 19 Outings

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Northside had no problem doing just that on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wenonah Dragons a 16-0 shutout. Considering the Rams have won 18 matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Brayden Billings was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since April 5th. Another player making a difference was Claire Jones, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Northside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .700. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in 14 consecutive games.

Northside is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 19 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 32-13-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Wenonah, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

As of now, neither Northside nor the Dragons have any future games scheduled.
