Baseball Recap: Priceville Wins Going Away Against Decatur Heritage Christian Academy

Priceville won the last time they faced Decatur Heritage Christian Academy and things went their way on Saturday too. Everything went the Priceville Bulldogs' way against the Decatur Heritage Christian Academy Eagles as the Priceville Bulldogs made off with a 9-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Tyde Borden made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 4-for-4. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Borden wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was JD Pflueger, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4. Pflueger has become a key player for Priceville: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Another was Sawyer Mims, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Priceville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Priceville's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Decatur Heritage Christian Academy, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Priceville will face off against Gadsden City at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Decatur Heritage Christian Academy, they will welcome Tuscaloosa Academy at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. Decatur Heritage Christian Academy's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Tuscaloosa Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
