The Slidell Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 23 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Sarah T. Reed 87-45 at home. The win was familiar territory for Slidell who now have five in a row.
Jaden Hookfin was his usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-4 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jereme Landor, who scored 12 points.
Slidell's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.1 points per game. As for Sarah T. Reed, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Slidell won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against East Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th. East Jefferson is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Sarah T. Reed, they will head out on the road to face off against Pearl River at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
