The Lake Norman Charter Knights will take on the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Lake Norman Charter's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Northwest Cabarrus has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Lake Norman Charter turned things around against Greater Cabarrus S on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Stallions.

Morgan Gadd made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Quinn Clark, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ilyana Smith, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one double.
Meanwhile, Northwest Cabarrus came up short against Concord on Tuesday and fell 6-3.
Like Lake Norman Charter, Northwest Cabarrus also got a great game from a two-way player: Haylee Ellis. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Ellis was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
Ellis wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kinsley Jung, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Lake Norman Charter's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Northwest Cabarrus, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
Lake Norman Charter's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's matchup. The Knights have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game.
