The Conway Christian Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Marlboro Academy Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Conway Christian has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Marlboro Academy will arrive with three straight wins.
Last Tuesday, Conway Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 46-41 to Lee Academy. Conway Christian has not had much luck with Lee Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The losing side was boosted by Wyatt Polatty, who scored 19 points.
Even though Marlboro Academy has not done well against Dillon Christian recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Marlboro Academy strolled past Dillon Christian with points to spare, taking the game 75-60. That's two games straight that Marlboro Academy has won by exactly 15 points.
Conway Christian dropped their record down to 5-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Marlboro Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Conway Christian might still be hurting after the 65-42 loss they got from Marlboro Academy when the teams last played back in January. Can Conway Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
